DAVIE MALUNGISA
Davie Malungisa was called to the Bar and joined the Johannesburg Society of Advocates in December 2017.

He has taken an interest in the practice area of construction law, general commercial law and public international law – especially in international human rights law.

Prior to joining the Bar, Davie worked for more than 20 years in various senior management and leadership roles in the fields of democratic governance, human rights, and sustainable development. In these roles, he gained strategic leadership skills advising international, regional, and intergovernmental organizations, among others, United Nations agencies, Oxfam, Amnesty International, African governments, and political parties.

Davie obtained an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa); an LLM in Energy and Environmental Law from the University of Birmingham (UK); a Master of Philosophy (Social Studies) from the University of Zimbabwe; a Post- Graduate Diploma in Management Practice (International Trade Law and Public Policy) from the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town; and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sociology from the University of Zimbabwe. He possesses a Mediation Certificate obtained from the University of Pretoria, South Africa; an Executive Certificate in Macro-Economics and Public Policy Management from the University of Brandies International Business, USA; a certificate in Advanced Political Economy from Witwatersrand University; and a certificate in Food Security and Agricultural Trade in Africa obtained from the World Bank Institute.
