Andrew has a BA and an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand. He joined the Johannesburg Bar in 1995 where he has practised ever since. He was awarded Senior Counsel status in 2019.

Andrew is a specialist in labour and employment Law, including both collective and individual work. He appears frequently in all the labour law adjudicative forums, from the CCMA to the Labour Appeal Court, in a wide variety of matters. Andrew also has expertise in the fields of Mine Health and Safety Law, Health and Safety Law generally, the law relating to restraints of trade, and commercial law.

Andrew has acted as a judge of the Labour Court on a number of occasions, and a significant number of cases he has appeared in have been reported in the labour law reports.
