Avanthie matriculated from Sacred Heart College and holds a BA LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of South Africa, majoring in Law and Anthropology. She served as a Judge’s Clerk for 4 years at the Gauteng Division, Johannesburg where she gained invaluable experience working with various permanent and acting Judges. She was called to the Bar in 2019 and practices in the High Court and Magistrate’s Court.

As a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates she has a general civil litigation practice with her main areas of interest in administrative law, commercial law, environmental law, family law, insolvency law and labour law.
