Mafungwase was called to the bar in 2024.

Prior to her call, she practiced as an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, having trained in corporate and commercial law and having gained experience in commercial litigation and civil litigation. Mafungwase has advised both private and public sector institutions. Since her call to the bar, Mafungwase has gained experience in corporate law, corporate governance and criminal law matters.
