Prior to being called to the Bar, Ali worked in the telecommunications sector and thereafter worked for a specialist litigation law firm in Sandton, Johannesburg. He holds a Masters in Law and runs a general litigation practice, focusing on a blend of Commercial Law and Public Law.
Ali is an accredited mediator and arbitrator through the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA).
He is an alumnus of the University of Johannesburg (formerly RAU), the University of Stellenbosch and Pretoria Boys High School.
