Bio
Prior to being called to the bar, Rasheed was employed in the Public Service as an Employee Relations Practitioner. He was later appointed at Rhodes University as an Employee Relations Manager and thereafter, a Director at a Legal and Labour Consultancy.
Rasheed also served as a part-time lecturer at the Nelson Mandela University where he lectured at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels and successfully supervised a number of LLM students. He has also published and presented papers at local and international conferences and peer reviewed a number of academic articles for publication.
Rasheed also as an associate and later as the Principal trainer in the Faculty of Law: Labour and Social Security Law Unit (LSSLU) where he trained a significant number of local and multi-national companies, trade unions, government departments as well as municipalities on employment-law.
Rasheed’s has a broad practice which includes both general commercial and civil litigation employment law, matrimonial law, administrative law, insolvency law and property law.
Rasheed holds the following qualifications: Baccalaureus Artium; Baccalaureus Artium Honores; Certificate in Labour Law Practice (CCMA accredited commissioner training); Legum Baccalaureus (LLB) and Legum Magister (Labour Law)- cum laude.
