Bio
Zanele was called to the bar in 2022. Before joining the legal sector, she worked in the telecommunications industry. Majority of her work involved dispute resolution, customer relations and technical solution architecture. She has partaken in and driven several infrastructure project developments anchored on new Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) structure, energy wheeling and energy trading with bulk off-takers in different industries. Currently concludes, appeal advisory in administrative, environmental and contractual matters along with various legal opinions and memorandums (cutting across different legal topics).
She holds the following degrees, Bcom Law from Unisa and an LLB from WITS. She also holds a Diploma Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategies from Harvard Business School and a Postgraduate Certificate in Climate Change and Energy Law from WITS. She has completed Virtual Introduction to International Arbitration with CIArb-UK and is an Associate member of CIArb-UK. She also seats as a committee member for CIArb-UK South African jurisdiction.
Zanele is a Qualified and Credited Mediator and Arbitrator with the Arbitration Foundation of Southern African (AFSA). She holds a Diploma Certificate from AFSA and University of Pretoria in Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution with Distinction in which she specialised in International Commercial Arbitration, Construction Industry and Labour Arbitration.
Since joining the bar, she has been involved in matters in the Magistrate Court, High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal. She has also mediated and arbitrated family and commercial disputes.
